Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about licensing, quotes, coverage and how we work.

Is Barry Enterprises a licensed security company?

Yes. We are licensed in Alberta, insured and WCB compliant, and every guard we deploy holds a valid Alberta security licence as required by the Security Services and Investigators Act.

Where do you provide security services?

Our headquarters is in Calgary and we deploy across Alberta, including Airdrie, Okotoks, Canmore, Banff, Red Deer, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray.

How do I get a quote?

Use the request form on this site or call (403) 608-1070. Tell us what you need protected, where it is and the hours you need covered. We assess the site and send a written quote.

What is a security assessment?

It is a review of your site, its risks and its current security. We use it to recommend the right coverage, whether that is on-site guards, mobile patrol, monitoring or a combination.

Do you offer short-term or one-time coverage?

Yes. We staff single events and short-term contracts as well as long-term posts.

What reports will I receive?

Guards file time-stamped shift and incident reports, and patrol officers file a report after every visit. Supervisors review them and you receive them.

What is PSC?

The Protection & Security Commission (PSC) is an independent Canadian professional association that sets training and professional standards for private security. It is not a government licence or regulator; security licences in Alberta are issued by the province.

Are you hiring?

Yes. We hire full-time and part-time Security Specialists. A valid Alberta security licence is required. See our careers page to apply.
